Uniforms are a gameplay feature of several installments of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Franchise. They offer camouflage for the player and can be equipped before the start of missions along with weapons and equipment.
Each uniform has four types of Armor: Light, Medium, Heavy, and Bio. Each armor type is reflected in the appearance of each uniform.
Light - Consists of a lightweight Level IIa tactical vest capable of stopping low-powered pistol rounds and is rounded out with the standard soft-soled rubber boots, Nomex balaclava, and Nomex/Kevlar gloves
Medium - This camo uniform consists of a Level II waist-length tactical vest capable of stopping up to 40. caliber pistol rounds and 9mm small arms fire, this is RAINBOW's standard gears, and also includes boots and Nomex/Kevlar gloves.
Heavy - This bulky camo uniform is made of Level III body armor, camo boots and Nomex/Kevlar gloves. It is slightly hotter and heavier than the other camo uniforms, but has a lot more protection and is capable of stopping most small arms fire except those from the higher powered rifles.
Bio - This Specially designed combat biosuit combines a Level IIa tactical vest with a full-body Level IV biohazard containment suit. Though its joints are specially reinforced, operatives wearing this suit in combat situations must exercise extreme caution lest their suit integrity is compromised.
