For the SMG variant, see MTAR-21

The TAR-21 (or simply Tavor) is a bullpup assault rifle manufactured by IWI (Israel Weapon Industries) that chambers the 5.56×45mm NATO round.

The TAR-21 is categorized as an assault rifle in the Rainbow Six universe. In almost all configurations of the TAR-21 in the Rainbow Six universe, it is equipped with a ITL MARS sight by default.

Raven Shield[]

The TAR-21 is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield.

Rainbow Six 3 (Console)[]

The TAR-21 is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 (Console).

Black Arrow[]

The TAR-21 is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow.

Vegas[]

The TAR-21, incorrectly designated as the MTAR21 in-game, is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas.

Overview[]

The weapon is unique in that the weapon can not feature iron sights, and has an ITL MARS sight by default, which behaves much like a reflex scope in-game. The weapon is very accurate, and has low recoil which makes it perfect to fit with a Suppressor. Since the weapon features a sight already, there is not a lot of reason to switch out the integral sight for an ACOG Scope. A Laser Sight will fit perfectly with the weapon, which makes even more accurate than it already was. The damage isn't the greatest for the weapon, but accuracy and range easily make up for this drawback. Terrorists often use this weapon as their second favorite assault rifle besides the AK-47. Since terrorists use this weapon in both Story and Terrorist Hunt, ammunition will never be a problem to the player.

Vegas 2[]

The TAR21 is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. Since Vegas 1 and 2 share the same engine and models, the weapon appears in the same configuration as its Vegas 1 counterpart.

Overview[]

The weapon is unique (much like in Vegas 1) where it features an ITL MARS sight instead of iron sights by default. The ITL Mars sight behaves much like a reflex scope in-game.

Trivia[]

Black Arrow[]

  • In Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow' the ITL MARS sight behaved exactly the same as a C-more reflex sight, despite it being a different optic.

Vegas 1 & 2[]

  • In Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas, the world model of the TAR-21 (mistakenly named "MTAR21" in Vegas 1) lacks a flash hider and features iron sights, even though there is no possible way to put iron sights on it.
  • If a player equips a reflex scope to the weapon in-game, the player will not receive a different optic, and instead get the default ITL MARS sight. It is not advised to pick the reflex scope attachment for this weapon.
  • In Vegas 2, the TAR-21 was correctly changed to not display the incorrect "MTAR21" name in the previous game, but still incorrectly uses an icon of the prototype MTAR-21 in the weapon select screen.
