• Seems like news on the Scotland Yard/Delta Force season is here. We have Operation Grim Sky!

    Excited, seeing that it seems like we have a shield Operator... and I am a shield main. Finally :3

    I'm sure it's still early to have a decent conversation, but thought I'd drop this for future conversation sake.

    • Sounds interesting. Aside from having to update wherever necessary, including the apparent Urban Tactical Response Team, I'll just be holding down the fort for now. Y'know, editing as well as monitoring the Discussion App as well as updating the rules to suit Fandom Terms of Use, among other things.

    • Of course, which is why I have not made any move due to the lack of any substantial content.

      It does bring to mind if I should apply to be a mod. The thought has come across my mind, but seeing that most of my activity here is mostly unrelated to mod powers, it may not be necessary. Still, wished to let you know that I've thought about it before and if you want another active mod around, I would be up for it. It would also give me more incentive to do some more editting and help out other areas of the wiki.

    • Go for it. You've been around for a while, and I'm sure Awy would accept. While he hasn't been around here for eight months or so, he's still the only b'crat who can give you content moderating powers.

  • Hello , i was wondering if you or any other mods have noticed but ubisoft has decided to removed the operators’ year of birth in their ingame biography , instead they replaced them with real age , and i think they do that for a reason , with the game probably spanning til year 7-8 , alot of the operators’ ages wont make sense anymore like thatcher or monty , the age will stay the same forever , to support my claim , back then Mira’s year of birth is 1977 , so she should be 41 years old by now , but Ubi decided to removed the canonical year of birth and just put in the age that they wanf hể to be , same with Echo , who was supposed to be born in 1980 but the bio said 36 , although he has the same year of birth as Blitz but blitz is 37 in the bio , i think this is a very minor but great change by the dev for people who cares about the lore of every single game like me , since you are the mod you have the ability to just simply removed the last 4 digits and all the ops’ dob , it is a very stupid and minor change i know but it just annoys me seeing my beloved ops age :(( , this is a very long post so i am very sorry , just want to contribute to the wiki

    • This was first posted into a moderator page before i found out about you being the admin , i forgot to replaced the “mod” with “admin” haha , sorry

    • It hasn't even been a full year. Logical deduction with their date of birth and their age would put almost everyone's stated age at around 2017 (except for most notably, Tachanka, whose age is still around the game's release year... for one reason or another.)

      Your Echo and Blitz argument falls flat because Blitz is only older by months apart. His birthday had happened, Echo's hasn't yet.

      These years are not outdated just yet. Just do a wait and see approach, as it is also quite possible that Ubisoft will change their mind.

      And, "make sense"? Not a lot of things about the game makes sense, even on release. I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft disregarded retirement age for the likes of Thatcher and Montagne.

  • Hello sir! I noticed that you have reverted many oc the changes that I have made. I have no issue with this, you are the admin and you make the rules! But, can you give me a guideline on what to do and when to do it?

    • If it's something that is far into the future, like the Hereford Base rework, please reserve from editing until we have both enough information as well as less room for error. That's why there's a template called "Leak" as well as one called "Upcoming", warnings for such.

  • Hello sir, I saw that under Glaz and his gun that nobody has put anything about the thermal scope from a while back. Should someone change that?

    P.S: I don't mean any sass when I call you sir I just try to be respectful

    Thanks!

    • Right. Btw, when you use the comment parts of pages, only use it to point out factual errors, I like to use it that way.

      Also, I live on a different Time Zone, the day ahead kind. If you need anything else, just leave a message and I'll try and answer when I can.

  • Hey Aljohn. I want you to ask on question. Is there already a german translation for this wiki? When not, can I open a new wiki with the same content like here?

      Loading editor
  • Hey, I noticed that Maesto and Alibi's infobox list their date and month of birth alongside their age, as opposed to their date, month, and year of birth. You think all the other operator infoboxes should be updated to show their age, align Alibi and Maestro with the rest of them, or maybe both?

  • An easier way to Wpn-nav-ize some pages might be providing a template that links to other sections instead of sub-pages, effectively replacing the table of contents (you can turn it off with __NOTOC__).

    So instead of linking to a 1 }}/R6|Rainbow Six, it links to Rainbow Six on the same page. There also needs to be some manual handling of "current section" styling in the form of

    {{#if:{}|
    !!{{#ifeq:{roguespear}|this|Rogue Spear|<!--
    -->Rogue Spear}}
    |}}

    ... that allows passing a |roguespear=this parameter to not make Rogue Spear (the current section) a link.

    • I’m quite aware of NOTOC and I get the idea... but the entire point of these subpages was to cut down the amount of content per page, especially for weapons that are in many of the franchise’s games.

  • Special:Diff/45099 created a lot of empty space between patch entries by injecting empty paragraphs between list entries.

    The segment below

    * a
    * b

    was supposed to generate

    * a Patch: alfa
    * b Patch: bravo

    but now generates

    * a Patch: alfa

    * b Patch: bravo

    which results in a lot of empty space being inserted in between. I have fixed this issue in the lastest edit by commenting the empty lines out, so that the source can look good without inserting empty lines into the expanded code. (Alternatively, <onlyinclude> can be a good solution too...)

    Please be a bit more careful with those empty lines!
