M4

The M4 is a carbine variant of the M16A2 assault rifle. The M4 is a carbine assault rifle manufactured by Colt's Manufacturing Company that chambers the 5.56x45mm NATO round. The M4 is the successor to the CAR-15 carbine. The M4 is capable of semi-automatic and three-round burst fire, while the M4A1 is capable of semi-automatic and full-automatic modes.[1]

There is another variant of the M4 in the Rainbow Six universe. This variant is called the SR-4CQB.

The M4 and SR-4CQB are both categorized as assault rifles in the Rainbow Six universe. The M4 appears in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow, while the SR-4CQB only appears in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown.

Trivia

  • The M4 carbine is named incorrectly in all Rainbow Six games to date. Every Rainbow Six game to date always used the full-auto M4A1 Carbine, rather than the burst-fire M4 variant.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear

  • Even though the weapon is called the M4 carbine, it is actually modeled off of the Colt Model 733 carbine.
