Stirling Lines, informally known as Hereford Base, is a British Army garrison in Credenhill, Herefordshire the headquarters of the 22 Special Air Service Regiment (22 SAS). Originally known as AF Crednhill and RAF Hereford, it was commissioned in 1940 as a non-flying station of the Royal Air Force and served as home for a range of training schools from 1940 until closure on April 23, 1994. The site was obtained by the British Army to redevelop for the Special Air Service headquarters base with the SAS subsequently moving from Hereford in 1999.

In the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Franchise, it has served as the headquarters of Rainbow since its formation in 1999, until Rainbow's departure to Greece in 2020.

Appearances[]

Rainbow Six[]

The base is featured prominently in the novel, Rainbow Six.

Siege[]

In Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, two multiplayer maps are based on the base

  • Hereford Base (Original) - A training killhouse based on the map Kill House from previous games. It was available at the game's release until its rework in September 2018.
  • Hereford Base (Rework) - An old brick warehouse/killhouse at Hereford, it was introduced in September 2018. While it retains a similar layout to the original map, it features major design changes to its aesthetic as well as new floors and pathways.
