Alain DuBarry is a former Rainbow operative that appears in several installments of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Franchise.

Biography[]

DuBarry was born in Chantilly, France on September 27, 1967. His father was a manuscript curator at a local museum while his mother was a journalist. He has four sisters and two brothers. His second oldest sister is a prominent professor of mathematics at the University of Paris. From 1984 to 1989, DuBarry attended the Ecloe Supérieure d'Ingénieurs en Electrotechnique et Electronique (ESIEE) in Paris. He graduated with a degree in electronics engineering and computer science. In 1990, he joined the Gendarmerie Nationale as a officer in the computer crime division. In 1994, DuBarry was instrumental in thwarting an attempt by a group of Algerian nationals to bring down the French Minitel computer network using a virus spread by telephone switching software.

His efforts eventually led to his recruitment by the GIGN in 1996 as a specialist in telephony and electronic surveillance. He was later recruited into Rainbow in 1999.

EndWar[]

In an alternate timeline, DuBarry was an operative of Rainbow until 2019 when it was disbanded by order of the European Federation. With the breakout of World War III in 2020, he became a founding member of the European Federation Enforcer Corps (EFEC). DuBarry was promoted to the rank of Colonel and became the commander to the Enforcer Battlegroup 10.

Psychological Profile[]

DuBarry is an expert on computers and computer nets as well as more conventional forms of surveillance. Although his role in CT actions is usually intelligence gathering and communications, as a veteran of GIGN's extensive combat training, he is fully qualified to participate in armed operations. Introverted and thoughtful, and an excellent tactician, he often makes connections that other team members miss.

Trivia[]

  • Off-duty, he is an avid amateur scuba diver and is an officer in the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS).
