The Heckler & Koch MP7 is a PDW (Personal Defense Weapon) manufactured by Heckler and Koch that chambers the 4.6x30mm round. The MP7 was made as a companion weapon to the UCP, since they both chamber the same round.

Along with the MP7 itself, there is two other variants of the weapon in the Rainbow Six universe. These variants are the PDW and the MP7A1.

  • The PDW is the prototype of the MP7 shown in 1999, equipped with a short top Picatinny rail and a smooth pistol grip surface. This variant lacks the folding front grip.
  • The MP7A1 is a variation designed in 2003 equipped with a folding front grip similar to the regular MP7, with side mounted Picatinny rails. The MP7A1 also features a stock able to be locked in three positions.

The MP7, MP7A1 and the PDW are categorized as submachine guns in the Rainbow Six universe.

Lockdown[]

"The latest in German made personal defense weapons with a collapsed stock and pistol grip loaded magazine. Normally the MP7 uses the Scope, Red Dot or Suppressor attachments."
— In-game description

The MP7SD, or the MP7 on the PC version of the game, is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown.

Overview[]

In the console versions of the game, the MP7SD is equipped with a Suppressor attachment by default.

In the PC version of the game, the MP7 does not have the Suppressor automatically attached like in the console versions of the game. The MP7 is used by Faisal Amidan's militia in the mission Desert Village, by the United Fatherland Brigade in the mission Hospital, and by the Marxist Radical Front in the missions Docks and Cruise Ship.

Vegas 1 & 2[]

The MP7A1 is a weapon featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2.

Story and Terrorist Hunt[]

The MP7A1 is unlocked by default in both Story Mode and Terrorist Hunt in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas. Whenever the player tells his/her team to "go silent" (Attach suppressors), the characters Michael Walter and Jung Park will always pull out a suppressed MP7A1 equipped with a reflex scope. The weapon has a very high rate of fire, albeit not as fast as the MAC 11. It has a high magazine capacity of 40 rounds, making it the second highest capacity submachine gun. It is only second to the huge 50-round magazine of the P90.

The weapon is extremely good at close quarters combat, due to its high rate of fire and relatively low recoil. Damage is also good for the weapon, although it sacrifices range for its higher capacity. Ammunition is a huge problem with this weapon, though, as terrorists never use this weapon in both game modes. The player has to watch their ammunition counter in both, so be careful when spraying and praying with it. It is always advised to refill ammunition for the weapon whenever the player comes across a supply cache in Story Mode. The sights are poor for the weapon, as the sights become extremely hard t acquire targets while firing in full automatic. To counter this poor statistic, a Reflex Scope or Rifle Scope is recommended.

Multiplayer[]

The MP7A1 is unlocked once the player reaches the Specialist rank in Multiplayer.

Siege[]

"Close to mid-range submachine gun with high penetration. Favored by GSG 9."
— In-game description

The MP7 is a submachine gun featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. It is available for use by Bandit, Zero and Fenrir.

Overview[]

The MP7 is optimal at close range. The submachine gun boasts a blistering fire rate of 900 RPM and one of the highest damage outputs in the SMG class.

To compensate, the MP7 has relatively high vertical recoil compared to other SMGs, and is unable to be customized with a grip. In addition, unlike most iron sights, the default MP7 iron sight obstructs vision minimally when aiming.

Pros[]

  • High rate of fire
  • High damage output

Cons[]

Trivia[]

Raven Shield[]

  • The M7 PDW in-game appears to look like the MP7A1 but is actually the third generation prototype PDW model as noted by the design of the front sight of the weapon.

Siege[]

  • Prior to an update, the charging handle on the MP7 was partially retracted which would have left the gun unable to fire. This has since been fixed.
  • Prior to the release of Operation Dust Line, equipping any optic with the MP7 would give it unusable Night Sights. However, when the lower magnification optics were equipped, the green glow of the Night Sights would occasionally block the field of vision. This was fixed by completely removing them when optics were equipped altogether.
  • The MP7 in-game is fitted with a 40 round magazine, but incorrectly feeds 30 rounds from it.
