The FAL (Belgian:Fusil Automatique Léger; English: Light Automatic Rifle) is a battle rifle manufactured by FN Herstal that chambers the 7.62x51mm NATO round. It is one of the most widely used rifles in history, having been used by more than 90 countries. The rifle became so popular that it was nicknamed "The right arm of the Free World."[1]

The FAL and the SA58 are categorized as assault rifles in the Rainbow Six universe. The FAL appears in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. The SA58 only appears in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown.

The 7.62mm FAL AR is a weapon featured in the Black Thorn expansion pack for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear.

A light Automatic Rifle, it is one of the most widely used battle rifles of the 20th century. Due to its heavy recoil in full-auto mode, it's often issued in semi-auto. It uses 7.62x51mm NATO rounds with a magazine capacity of 20 rounds.
