- "Sets high-tension Shock wire on metallic gadgets, dealing damage to enemies."
— CED-1 (Crude Electrical Device) Description
Dominic "Bandit" Brunsmeier is a Defending Operator featured in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. A Light Armored Operator, Bandit's unique gadget are four Crude Electrical Devices. These devices send an electric charge through metallic gadgets such as a Reinforced Wall, a Deployable Shield, or Barbed Wire, and will damage those who come in contact.
Biography
Brunsmeier and his twin brother Cedrick joined the Bundesgrenzschutz (BGS) the day after their eighteenth birthday in 1992. Stationed with border patrol, Brunsmeier spent his first year getting accustomed to taking orders and filing paperwork.
In 1994, he was assigned to a joint task force aimed at quelling the growing threat of the Red Army Faction (RAF). In 2006 he was recruited by the GSG-9 to go undercover, where he would spend four years embedded with the Hannover Chapter of the Hells Angels.
Psychological Profile
A prankster, Brunsmeier forced his brother Cedrick into early retirement from the BGS with his Crude Electrical Device. He is also known for taking obsolete items and repurposing them into weapons.
Gameplay Description
- Bandit can place his Shock Wires on all metallic gadgets, which include Barbed Wire, Reinforced Walls, and Deployable Shields.
- A shocked gadget is visually identifiable by small electric arcs being emanated off of the surface of the gadget.
- Shocked objects destroy all electronic gadgets they come in contact with (except the Shock Wires themselves), regardless if they're friendly or enemy gadgets. For example, shocked Barbed Wires can destroy Drones with ease, a shocked Reinforced Wall can destroy Thermite's Exothermic Charges or Hibana's X-KAIROS pellets (provided that they're not deployed on it first before getting shocked), and a shocked Deployable Shield can destroy Ash's Breaching Rounds.
- Attackers touching a shocked object will take roughly 3 damage every one-thirds of a second. The aimpunch effects of taking damage is amplified due to the frequency of the damage, causing significant visual disorientation.
- In the Preparation Phase, swiftly block access to enemy drones by setting barbed wire and electrifying it with the CED to destroy any drones that come in contact with the wire - you can sync with your teammates to quickly set these traps.
- If Mute is out of Signal Disruptors, place Shock Wires on reinforced walls that are not covered: when electrified, gadgets placed on them will be disabled instantly.
- You can also put up a Deployable Shield at the entrance of a room and electrify it. If enemies try to vault over it, they'll suffer electrical damage.
- Shock Wires are vulnerable to Thatcher's EMP Grenade.
- In Attacker teams using Thermite-Thatcher combos, one way to deny Thermite's breach while avoiding Thatcher's EMP grenade is to place it after Thermite starts placing his Exothermic Charge. As Thermite's Exothermic Charge takes time to deploy and breach, Bandit's quickly-placed Shock Wire can destroy the Exothermic Charge just before the wall is breached. Because the Shock Wire is not placed until the last second, it is very difficult for Thatcher's EMP Grenades to destroy them. This strategy is known as the Bandit Trick in the community.
- Because Reinforced Walls often come in groups and are opaque, Bandit needs information on where and when will Thermite deploy the Exothermic Charge. Valkyrie or Mira are very effective at gaining intel on enemy movements outside of the Reinforced Walls. If there is no one to collaborate with, Bandit can use the distinct rustlings and the beep of the Exothermic Charge deployment process as info on Thermite's actions.
- The strategy carries a risk however, as if Bandit fails to prevent the breach, he will be caught in the explosion and be the first target in Attackers' line of fire.
- One Shock Wire is only capable of electrifying one reinforced wall or barbed wire at a time.
- While Bandit's Shock Wire do not damage teammates, they will destroy teammates' electronic gadgets if they are in contact with the shocked gear. Make sure to warn your teammates where you plan to place your wires.
- If the Shock Wire destroys a Drone, you will earn 20 points instead of 10 due to earning an electrified effect bonus.
- Mixing Bandit's Shock Wire with Castle's reinforced barricades can prove quite effective at slowing down or killing enemies when they enter the wire to set breaching charges, cluster charges or using melee or breaching hammers.
- It is possible to get a kill when you're dead if Bandit's gadget is still intact, similar to Kapkan's EDDs and Frost's Welcome Mats.

Loadout Description
The CED-1 is the result of Brunsmeier’s resourceful nature. The device was first created when he was cornered in an abandoned auto shop outside of Frankfurt. Using what was available to him, Brunsmeier fashioned a crude electrical device and was able to secure his defenses by electrifying a metallic door and shocking his assailants as they attempted to breach his stronghold. The device, though relatively low-tech, has followed Brunsmeier from GSG-9 to Team Rainbow, due to its consistent and effective performance in the field.

Trivia
- In the Closed Beta of the game, Bandit had an overall 52.3% win rating as a defender.
- In the Rainbow Six Siege Intro Video, an unnamed, mask-less GSG 9 bearded male operator can be seen as part of a profile dossier. This unnamed operator has been speculated to be Bandit, as the years 2006 and 2010 are marked as notable years on the operator's dossier, which correspond to dates in Bandit's own bio, where he went undercover in 2006 and and departed from his undercover duties in 2010. In addition, after the year 2010, the word "Exits" can be seen, possibly referencing the year Bandit departed from his undercover duties.
