The ARX-160 is a select-fire assault rifle manufactured by the Italian Manufacturing company Beretta. The ARX-160 was launched in 2008 as a commercial weapon for the Italian Armed Forces. The ARX-160 is a gas-operated rotating bolt assault rifle that chambers the 5.56x45mm NATO round, and it fires at around 700 rounds per minute. The weapon was made as a part of the Soldato Futuro (English: Future Soldier) program. Many allied countries liked the rifle, and put it in various tests to see if the weapon can outperform current rifles in service. So far it is not being used as a service rifle for some militaries, but is being used by various Special Forces soldiers of countries of Europe. These countries include Pakistan, Albania, Paraguay, and Egypt.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: PatriotsEdit
The ARX-160 was set to appear in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Patriots. Since the game was cancelled, the weapon will never appear in the game. The ARX-160 was seen on an image in Game Informer, and on an officially released screenshot of the game.
